You may or may not have heard of Dog Trainer, or should I say Dog Tamer, Cesar Millan. Cesar’s TV program ‘The Dog Whisperer’ showcases Cesar working with dogs that have severe behavioural issues, and in some cases dogs that are on death row due to aggression or the inability to re-home them.

When Cesar rehabilitates fearful or traumatised dogs, he often takes them to his rehabilitation centre to spend time with other dogs for socialisation. He also works on behaviours by presenting the doggie patient with the object/s of fear whilst running or walking him or her on a dog treadmill.

The idea here is that Cesar redirects the dogs anxious behaviour with the use of exercise.
Dog treadmills are not only limited to use in doggie daycare or other services. They are now affordable enough to have in the home, and are designed to look sleek and slimline to fit in with any decor.
We all know that if we don’t exercise our dogs enough, they become stressed out or anxious due to the lack release that physical exercise provides.
If you either don’t have the time to walk your dog regularly, or if the winter weather proves too awful to go jogging around the park with your pooch in, then a pet treadmill is the answer.
